Live: Hyderabad Celebrates Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour

Hyderabad: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour across Hyderabad on Saturday.

While various Central and State government departments celebrated the occasion at their respective offices with patriotism, several commercial and residential welfare associations members hoisted the national flag to mark the occasion.

They paid tribute to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters. The members of the associations sang patriotic songs and distributed sweets to people.

Under the aegis of the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate, the Independence Day celebrations were conducted with rich patriotic fervor and grandeur at the CAR Headquarters, Petlaburz.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar attended as the chief guest and unfurled the national flag. He later received the ceremonial Guard of Honour.

The Commissioner paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation's independence. Subsequently, he presented certificates of appreciation to 72 police officers and personnel in recognition of their exemplary dedication, meritorious service, and operational excellence.

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation celebrated Independence Day at its head office here. The celebrations included the hoisting of the national flag, the national anthem and a tribute to the sacrifices of our freedom fighters.

The occasion also recognized and appreciated CMC employees who have demonstrated dedicated service and contributed their best towards serving citizens and strengthening civic services.

The Commissioner G Srijana appreciated the commitment and efforts of the entire CMC team and encouraged all employees to continue working with dedication, responsibility and a strong sense of public service.

The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour at the Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC) office here.

As part of the celebrations, Dr. Justice Shameem Akther, Chairperson, Telangana Human Rights Commission, hoisted the national flag at his official residence and camp office. The programme commenced with the singing of Vande Mataram, followed by the hoisting of the national flag and singing of the national anthem – Jana Gana Mana.
