Hyderabad: CBSE Class 12 Results Evoke Mixed Response

Several students also took to the social media platform X, alleging that answers were not evaluated fairly, even when compared to the answer key: Reports

HYDERABAD: The Class XII re-evaluation and verification results declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) late Sunday night evoked a mixed response as some Hyderabad students improved scores and expressed satisfaction. In contrast, several others were disappointed because there was no change in their marks, which are crucial for undergraduate admissions.

According to the CBSE, results for 87 per cent of the total candidates who applied for re-evaluation were released on Sunday. The outcome for the other candidates would also be released in phases, the CBSE said.

The CBSE said candidates who applied for verification of issues and whose report shows no changes could inspect their answer book at the respective CBSE regional office.

Sukriti Garg, a student who registered for re-evaluation, said she was awarded five additional marks in physics, but her mathematics marks remained unchanged. “I am disappointed with the scores,” she complained.

Another student who requested anonymity, said there was no change in their mathematics scores despite writing correct answers according to the key.

Several students also took to the social media platform X, alleging that answers were not evaluated fairly, even when compared to the answer key.

They raised concerns over issues, including unchecked MCQs and no resolution for blurred sheets. They demanded that the CBSE lower the passing criteria for the academic year 2025-26 and provide re-evaluated copies for free to every student.

One user, Ash, posted, “My teachers said you will get up to 12 marks by seeing my physics papers, but not even a single mark increased”.

Citing student feedback, Anubha Sahai, president of the India-Wide Parents Association, said many students were satisfied with revised marks, but some complained that their marks were reduced. She said students unsatisfied with their marks can now pursue improvement, which is the last option.
