Hyderabad: A case has been registered at Banjara Hills police station against a casting agent for allegedly cheating and harassing a film actress.
According to police, the accused Prasad, a casting agent, approached the actress offering her a role as a friend of the heroine in a film titled “Aakashamlo Oka Taara.” The shooting was completed between October and December 2025.
However, the accused allegedly failed to pay her remuneration of ₹90,000 along with ₹38,000 towards travel expenses. In February, he called her to a film producer’s office in Banjara Hills and allegedly threatened her instead of clearing the dues.
He further allegedly forced her into a car, took her to a nearby location, and misbehaved with her, promising more film opportunities in exchange for personal favours. Disturbed by the incident, the actress informed her mother, who confronted the accused over the phone and was also allegedly abused and threatened.
Following the complaint, police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
