Hyderabad: Burqa-clad Woman Joins Vaikuntha Ekadashi Dancers, Wins Hearts

Hyderabad: A viral video showing a burqa clad woman dancing during a Vaikuntha Ekadashi procession near Hyderabad’s Charminar has gained the love and adoration of many, including city police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar. “A simple moment that reflects #Hyderabad’s centuries of Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb, witnessed by many near Charminar today.” (sic), the top cop wrote on X, sharing the cheerful video.



Vaikuntha Ekadashi is a Hindu festival, widely observed across the country. The video, dated 30th December this year, shows a burqa wearing woman from the crowd spontaneously joining the dancers in the procession. The synchronized dancers too are seen welcoming, making space for her to dance with them.
