Hyderabad: B.Tech Student Dies 18 Days After Marriage
Pallavi was pursuing her third year of B.Tech at Kommuri Prathap Reddy Institute of Technology. She got married to Srikanth Reddy, a constable working at Chaitanyapuri Police Station, on August 30.
Hyderabad: A 20-year-old B.Tech student died by suicide after allegedly jumping from a college building, just 18 days after her marriage. The deceased was identified as Pallavi, daughter of Yenugu Madhusudhan Reddy, a native of Katepally village in Motakonduru mandal of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.
Pallavi was pursuing her third year of B.Tech at Kommuri Prathap Reddy Institute of Technology. She got married to Srikanth Reddy, a constable working at Chaitanyapuri Police Station, on August 30.
According to the complaint, Pallavi allegedly faced physical and mental harassment from her husband over additional dowry. Distressed by the alleged harassment, she jumped from the three-storey college building.
Pallavi was initially shifted to Neelima Hospital in Jeedimetla and later moved to Srikara Hospital in Medipally for better treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries.
Ghatkesar police registered a case based on a complaint filed by Pallavi’s mother, Sandhya. Further details are awaited.
