Hyderabad: BJP Leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy Demands Disclosure of Land Irregularities

He demanded that the details of the alleged land transfers be placed in the public domain.

Hyderabad: BJP Legislature Party floor leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy on Wednesday questioned the government’s failure to disclose details of the alleged irregularities involving 23 lakh acres through 13,000 Dharani transactions.

He asked who benefited from the alleged land transfers and demanded that the details be placed in the public domain.

Demanding a forensic audit report and a judicial inquiry by a sitting judge into land deals, Reddy addressing media, said revenue minister Ponguleti had spoken for four hours and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for three-and-a-half hours, while the Opposition was not given adequate time to respond.

He alleged that the government had also ignored the established practice of allowing clarifications during a short discussion.

He sought publication of records relating to the 1.02 crore acres of land in the government’s possession, including government, tribal, Dalit, assigned, endowment, waqf, Bhoodan, ceiling and forest lands.

He also demanded clarity on the five lakh acres reportedly removed from Part-I B of the prohibited list, including the procedure followed.
