Hyderabad: 2 YouTubers Held for Extortion Attempt

Hyderabad: The Saroornagar police arrested Chirra Kotesh and Vadlakonda Naresh for attempting to extort money from a sweet shop owner by fabricating a food contamination complaint. At about 1 pm on Friday, the duo purchased and consumed sweets from an outlet on Road No. 15, and claimed to have found a dried prawn.
They pretended to suffer from nausea and accused the shop of serious hygiene violations. Flashing media ID cards of a YouTube channel, the duo identified themselves as reporters and threatened to upload videos unless they were paid off. The shopowner called the police but the accused fled they arrived.

Wall collapse kills labourer
A 55-year-old daily wage labourer died when a compound wall collapsed on him at an under-construction site in the Mahalaxmi Layout Road in Dullapally on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Bolli Chennayya, a resident of Thipudampally in Atmakur mandal of Wanaparthy district. Co-workers and local residents alerted emergency services. Petbasheerabad police, along with 108 ambulance personnel, reached the site but Chennayya had died by then.
Petbasheerabad police have registered a case and are investigating whether negligence or violation of safety norms led to the collapse. Officials are also examining if the builder adhered to construction safety protocols mandated under the law.
