Hyd: Two Minors, Two Pan Shop Owners Held For Illegal Sale, Purchase of Tobacco Products

Eagle Force team caught two minors red-handed and arrested two pan shop owners, both partners, who were illegally selling cigarettes and tobacco to minors in Old Bowenpally on Sunday.
In the last two weeks, surveillance on two of the accused -- Yusuf Uddin Goury, 65, and MD Rehan Ali, 19, was increased and the arrests were made after identifying that tobacco and cigarettes were being sold illegally at Nimra Pan Mahal in Gowri Nagar, Sandeep Shandilya, director TG-EAGLE –Force said.
Eagle teams were sent 22 times in mufti and on all the occasions, tobacco and cigarettes were found to be sold at Nimra Pan Mahal. The two minors were taken into custody when they were found purchasing cigarettes and the entire incident was recorded on video as evidence, Sandeep said.
Cigarettes and tobacco products, including Marlboro, American, Classic, Gold Flake, Charms Flake and other brands, were seized from the kiosk. The seized products are estimated to cost around Rs 60,000, he said.
The arrested have been handed over to Bowenpally police. Cases were registered under Section 6 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), 2003 and Section 77 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015) against purchasers and sellers.
