HMDA has proposed to develop 213 urban parks within the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) area

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has proposed to enhance the surroundings of Hussainsagar by developing lush greenery.
“The Buddha Purnima Project (BPP) will prepare a master plan for the beautification of the lake. The idea is to attract more visitors and enhance the beauty of the place,” HMDA urban forestry director Rohit Reddy Gopidi said.
In addition, HMDA has proposed to develop 213 urban parks within the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) area.
Of the 213 parks, 23, each spread over one acre, have been identified. Work on 18 parks has been completed, while the remaining five are under development.
HMDA has partnered with real estate, IT and other companies, as well as banks, for the development and maintenance of these parks. Through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, HMDA has saved Rs. 5.79 crore, an HMDA official said.
