Hung Verdict in Karimnagar Municipal Corporation; BJP Emerges as Largest Party
With no party securing a clear majority, BJP is likely to stake claim to the mayor’s post with support from Independents.

Karimnagar: Karimnagar Municipal Corporation has delivered a hung verdict, with no single party securing an absolute majority in the 66-division civic body.
According to the results, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 30 divisions, while the Indian National Congress secured 14 seats. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) won nine divisions, Independents claimed eight seats, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) secured three seats, and the All India Forward Bloc won two divisions.
With the support of Independent corporators, the BJP is expected to capture the mayoral post in the corporation.
The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected corporators is scheduled to be held on the 16th of this month at 11 am. On the same day, the election for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be conducted in the afternoon, officials said.
