Humiliated College Girl Dies, Brain Stroke Suspected

HYDERABAD: A 17-year-old Intermediate college girl died under suspicious circumstances after she came home from college on Friday. At the college, she was reportedly reprimanded by her lecturer for being late to college due to menstrual issues.
The girl was a resident of Malkajgiri and was studying Intermediate second year at a government college in Marredpally.
According to police, the girl was humiliated by a female lecturer, who reportedly abused her in the midst of the class for arriving late to the college because of menstrual issues
Marredpally inspector Nomula Venkatesh said the girl collapsed after she reached home and was shifted to the Gandhi General Hospital where doctors found her dead. During a medical examination, the doctors confirmed that she died due to brain stroke.
Angered by the death of the girl, her family members and students staged a protest at the college accusing the lecturer of being insensitive. However, the police dispersed the mob. No case was registered yet in connection with this incident.
