Human Rights Panel Raps School Over Child Safety Lapse

Authorities confirmed that a case has been registered against Rohan Anthony as a juvenile in conflict with law.

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Human Rights Commission has issued stringent directions in connection with a shocking incident at Little Flower School, acting on a complaint filed by Human Rights advocate Rama Rao Immanen. The commission took serious note of grave negligence by the school management after reports revealed that a standard IX student, Rohan Anthony, allegedly engaged in inappropriate behaviour towards a second grade minor child.

Authorities confirmed that a case has been registered against Rohan Anthony as a juvenile in conflict with law. The commission observed that the school failed in its fundamental duty to protect children, terming it a serious institutional lapse.

In a decisive move, the commission directed the director of school education to take immediate action against principal Reverend Joseph Pasala for entrusting supervisory duties to a grade IX student. It ordered submission of an Action Taken Report within two months.

Reiterating its zero-tolerance stance, the commission warned that strict measures will be enforced to prevent recurrence of such incidents, stressing that negligence concerning child safety will not be tolerated.
