House Sites Allotted To Textile Park Oustees

MLA promises jobs, better infrastructure: Reports

WARANGAL: The state government will remain indebted to farmers who parted with their land for the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park (KMTP), said Parkal MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy.

The MLA, along with district collector Satya Sharada and Kakatiya Urban Development Authority chairman Enagala Venkatram Reddy, distributed house site registration documents to displaced farmers of Sangem village at a programme held in Geesukonda mandal on Wednesday.

The plots have been allotted at the Rajiv Gandhi Township as part of the rehabilitation process for those affected by the project.

Prakash Reddy said the textile park project has gained momentum under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, attributing progress to coordination with Union ministers after delays during the previous administration.

He said the government would provide employment opportunities within the textile park to eligible members of displaced families to support their livelihood.

The MLA said 186 beneficiaries were initially allotted 50 square yards, but the government later increased it to 75 square yards following a representation by minister Sridhar Babu to the Chief Minister, citing the need for adequate space to construct houses.

He said infrastructure works worth Rs 80 crore are under way at the Rajiv Gandhi Township. Facilities planned include a primary school, primary health centre, gram panchayat office and veterinary hospital, along with CC roads, culverts and high-tension power lines. MSME clusters are also being developed.

He warned of strict action against illegal layouts and encroachments in the area, stating that enforcement would be carried out to protect the planned development.
