Holiday Rush Triggers Traffic Jams at Toll Plazas on NH 65

Nalgonda: Heavy traffic congestion was reported at toll plazas in Yadadri-Bhongir district on Sunday night, with vehicles piling up at the Panthangi toll plaza on National Highway 65 and the Guduru-I toll plaza on the Hyderabad-Warangal highway.
Traffic volume on NH 65 increased significantly as people who had travelled to their native places for the two-day holiday returned to Hyderabad. The rush began building up from Sunday evening, officials said. At the Panthangi toll plaza, vehicles on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad stretch of NH 65 were stuck in kilometre-long queues and moved bumper to bumper. Additional congestion was reported at Chityal and Velminedu on NH 65, where ongoing road expansion works led to traffic snarls extending up to half a kilometre.
