Highway Safety Task Force To Intensify Patrolling On NH-65
The National Highway Safety Task Force will intensify patrolling and safety measures on NH-65 in Suryapet district to reduce road accidents.
The district-level committee of the National Highway Safety Task Force has decided to intensify patrolling and safety measures along NH-65 in Suryapet district to minimise road accidents.
The decision was taken at a committee meeting chaired by additional district collector Nandyala Prem Karan Reddy at the Integrated District Offices Complex (IDOC) in Suryapet. The committee reviewed the causes of recent accidents on the highway and discussed measures to prevent their recurrence.
Officials suggested deploying an ambulance and a crane for every 30 km along NH-65 to ensure quicker response during emergencies.
Deputy commissioner of transport N. Vani stressed the need to create awareness among drivers on road safety measures. She said drowsy driving was also a major cause of road accidents on NH-65 and advised motorists to exercise caution.
The committee also discussed the need to ensure that vehicles were not parked on the roadside without proper caution signs.
Officials from the Roads and Buildings, National Highways Authority of India, health and police departments attended the meeting.
