Telangana High Court
Hyderabad: The division bench of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday reserved its verdict in the writ appeals filed by the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) against the single judge’s orders on the Group-I Mains examination. The judgment would be pronounced on January 22, 2026.
The division bench comprising Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin concluded the hearing of arguments in the appeals, which the Telangana Public Service Commission filed along with a group of candidates who had qualified in the Group I Mains examination.
The appeals challenged the single judge’s order passed in October, which had suspended the results of 563 Group-I posts and set aside the results declared on March 10, as well as the general rank list published on March 30 and directed reevaluation or re-examination on the grounds of biased evaluation.
Earlier, the High Court had stayed the operation of the single judge’s order and following that, the TGPSC proceeded with appointments to the vacant Group-I cadre posts. The court also made it clear that such appointments would be subject to the outcome of the writ appeals pending before it.
The issue had also reached the Supreme Court, while hearing similar appeals filed by the commission in October 2025, requested the Telangana High Court to prioritise the matter and take an early decision.
Following the observations of the apex court, the High Court commenced effective hearings from December 22 and concluded the arguments on Tuesday.
