Heavy to Extremely Heavy Rain Alert in Telangana

India Meteorological Department warns of intense rainfall in northern districts on Day 1, with gusty winds up to 50 kmph and widespread showers across the state over the next five days.

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rainfall across Telangana, issuing warnings for heavy to extremely heavy rain on July 30 and continued showers on July 31.

For Day 1 (July 30), light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at most places across the state. Very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall accompanied by strong surface winds of 40–50 kmph is likely at isolated places in Adilabad, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, and Jagtial districts.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall with similar wind speeds is expected in Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, and Kamareddy districts. Several other districts including Medak, Sangareddy, Jangaon, Hanumakonda, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Vikarabad, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Siddipet, and Bhadradri Kothagudem are likely to receive heavy rainfall at isolated places. Strong winds of 30–40 kmph are expected in the remaining districts.

For Day 2 (July 31), rainfall activity is expected to ease slightly, with light to moderate rain likely at many places across the state. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Adilabad, Nirmal, and Nizamabad districts. Strong surface winds of 30–40 kmph are also likely to prevail at isolated pockets across all districts.
