Heavy Rains Halt Vehicular Traffic in Nizamabad, Medak Districts

Vehicular movement paralysed, colonies inundated as reservoirs and rivers swell in Nizamabad, Medak districts.

Heavy rains in the undivided Nizamabad and Medak districts have severely affected normal life, disrupting vehicular traffic on major routes including National Highway 44 and the Karimnagar–Kamareddy–Yellareddy (KKY) state highway. Several residential colonies in Kamareddy were inundated, while the Pocharam reservoir on the Kamareddy–Medak border received heavy inflows.

Water levels in the Godavari and its tributary Manjeera have risen sharply across Nizamabad, Kamareddy, and Medak districts. District administrations are taking precautionary measures to ensure public safety.

In-charge ministers Dhanarasi Anasuya Seethakka and G. Vivek Venkata Swamy, along with TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, are scheduled to visit the flood-affected areas today. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will conduct an aerial survey of the undivided Nizamabad and Medak districts. Meanwhile, district collectors are closely monitoring the evolving flood situation.
