IMD also forecast light to moderate rainfall in Hyderabad on Tuesday across all the zones

Hyderabad: The weather bureau predicted a wet Monday and three days of heavy rainfall in several districts where it sounded a ‘yellow alert’, asking people to be alert, on Sunday. This follows a wet weekend holiday as well as a sustained downpour that began late on Saturday night.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, forecast that isolated locations within Hyderabad, and neighbouring Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy Medak and Kamareddy districts could see thunderstorms and winds gusting up to 50 kmph on Monday. The forecast also covered Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahbubabad, Warangal and Hanamkonda districts. The same situation would more or less prevail in these districts on Tuesday as well.

The yellow alert holds for Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts, with heavy rainfall likely across the northern districts. Meanwhile, a report from Andhra Pradesh said a low-pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal persisted on Sunday. This could bring heavy rain over north coastal Andhra Pradesh on Monday and Tuesday.
