NIZAMABAD: Heavy rain lashed Nizamabad town on Thursday, causing significant disruptions in low-lying areas. Sudden downpours led to waterlogging on major roads, particularly the Nizamabad–Armoor and Nizamabad–Bodhan routes. Residents of Malapally, Arsapally, Canalkatta, Ambedkar Colony, Chandrasekhar Colony, Gouthamnagar, and other neighbourhoods faced considerable hardship due to the flooding.

District collector T. Vinay Krishna Reddy toured the affected areas and urged the public to remain cautious. He specifically warned those living in the catchment areas of the Sriramsagar project and along rivers and streams to stay vigilant and avoid leaving their homes unless absolutely necessary. He also advised against approaching lakes, canals, ponds, or other water bodies for fishing or swimming. To prevent loss of life or property, he instructed all relevant departments to maintain constant monitoring. In case of emergency, residents can contact the collectorate control room at 08462-220183 for assistance.
