Heavy Rain Disrupts Hyderabad Traffic
Orange, yellow alerts for Telangana till July 25

Hyderabad: The IMD Hyderabad on Monday issued an orange alert for several districts, with heavy to very heavy rain forecast on Tuesday and Wednesday. A yellow warning has also been issued for many parts of the state for July 24 and 25.
On Monday, rains lashed several areas in the city, including Rajendranagar, Shivarampalle, Katedan, Barkas, Aramghar, Chandrayangutta, Kismatpur and the city outskirts, leading to waterlogging and traffic congestion.
Vehicular movement slowed at multiple stretches in the Aramghar and Rajendranagar surroundings, particularly near Pillar no. 191 towards Aramghar and from Whitehouse at Pallecheruvu to Aramghar. Traffic was heavily affected on the P.V. Narasimha Rao Expressway near Pillars no. 297, 307 and 308. Waterlogging was reported from Durganagar to Aramghar and at the railway underpass near Aramghar, as well as from Zoo Park to the Aramghar flyover.
Monsoon emergency teams were deployed to clear the inundated roads and restore smooth traffic flow. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur on Tuesday.
An orange alert has been issued, with heavy to very heavy rain likely at isolated places in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Jangaon and Kamareddy districts.
A yellow warning has been issued for Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Rangareddy, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Medchal–Malkajgiri, Hyderabad, Vikarabad, Medak and Nagarkurnool districts.
In Hyderabad and its neighbourhood, moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) is very likely over the next 48 hours, particularly in the evening and night. Surface winds are expected to be westerlies or north-westerlies with speeds around 6–10 kmph.
