Heavy Rain Brings Relief to Warangal
The rainfall eased prevailing heat and humidity.

WARANGAL: Moderate to heavy rainfall lashed parts of the erstwhile Warangal district on Friday, bringing relief after nearly two months of dry weather.
Showers were reported between 6 am and 11 am across Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet, along with several mandals. The rainfall eased prevailing heat and humidity.
Despite the onset of the southwest monsoon nearly two months ago, rainfall had remained below normal, leading to dry conditions. Groundwater levels had declined, borewells dried up in several areas, and residents faced drinking water shortages, while farmers reported concerns over irrigation for the kharif season.
The rain led to waterlogging in low-lying areas and inundation of some roads.
Farmers said the rainfall could improve soil moisture and support agricultural operations. Officials indicated it may aid groundwater recharge and replenishment of water bodies.
According to officials, the India Meteorological Department has forecast moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning over the next two to three days. Farmers have begun accelerating kharif activities in view of the forecast.
