Health Camps Every Quarter In Jails
Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha said on Saturday that the health department would enter into a memorandum of understanding with the prisons to facilitate health check‑ups every three months in every jail across the state.

HYDERABAD: Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha said on Saturday that the health department would enter into a memorandum of understanding with the prisons to facilitate health check‑ups every three months in every jail across the state. The camps would be held under the supervision of district medical and health officers and would provide a range of tests, according to prisons DG Soumya Mishra.
The minister was speaking at a health camp organised at the Central Prison, Chanchalguda, under the government’s 99‑day Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika programme. Similar camps were held across the 35 jails in the state.
The event was attended by senior officials including health secretary Dr Christina Z. Chongthu, Hyderabad district collector Harichandana Dasari, health director Dr S. Sangeetha Satyanarayana, director of medical education Dr A. Narendra Kumar, director of public health Dr B. Ravinder Naik and Dr J. Ajay Kumar, commissioner, Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad.
Senior prisons officials including IG N. Murali Babu, DIG Dr D. Srinivas and Chanchalguda jail superintendent N. Shiva Kumar were present.
