HC Takes Up Illegal Construction On FTL Lands In Gajularamaram

HYDERABAD: Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of the Telangana High Court took on file a writ plea alleging illegal construction of apartments on FTL lands in Gajularamaram, Quthbullapur mandal. The judge was dealing with a writ plea filed by Konda Raveendra Reddy. The petitioner alleged that Manbhum Constructions Company Pvt. Ltd, in collusion with revenue officials, is constructing apartments in Sy No.s 299-301 and encroached upon his plot in Sy No. 295. The petitioner would further contend that despite a representation, the respondent authorities failed to initiate action against the builder. He argued that such inaction is illegal, arbitrary, and violative of the Constitution, and contrary to the principles of natural justice. The judge ordered notice to the respondents and posted the matter to September 9.

Wife illegally detained by parents, says husband

A two-judge panel of the Telangana High Court comprising Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya and Justice Gadi Praveen Kumar directed production of a 25-year-old woman, allegedly being confined by her parents for marrying outside their caste and religion. The panel was hearing a habeas corpus writ plea filed by a man alleging that his 25-year-old wife is being illegally detained by her parents as their marriage was inter-religion and inter-caste. He was seeking a direction to produce her before the court and set her at liberty. The special government pleader submitted that the petitioner had not lodged any complaint with the police regarding the alleged detention but confirmed that the woman is aged 25 years and sought time to produce her before the court. The panel directed the state to produce the alleged detenue in court on August 22.

Removal of kazi challenged

Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka of the Telangana High Court admitted a writ plea challenging the removal of a kazi. The state government passed an order removing an Additional kazi in Hyderabad on the allegation of conducting child marriages. The judge was dealing with a writ plea filed by Mohammed Zaheeruddin. The petitioner contended that the government order of August 2025 removing him from the post of Additional Kazi of Qazzat, Qile Mohammed Nagar, was arbitrary, illegal, and violative of principles of natural justice. He argued that the order was passed without clearly specifying any misconduct and sought its quashing, along with a direction restraining the authorities from interfering with his duties. An impleading petitioner, also a kazi, submitted that allegations against Zaheeruddin included conducting child marriages and other misconducts under the Kazis Act. Authorities initiated proceedings against him based on a report submitted by the Commissioner of Police. He further argued that the order was passed after due inquiry and maintained that the government had the authority to suspend a kazi under the Kazis Act. The government pleader sought time to file a response.

Attempt to build permanent mandapam challenged

Justice N.V. Shravan Kumar of the Telangana High Court on Wednesday took on file a writ plea challenging the alleged attempt to construct permanent Ganesh mandapams at the Sector-5 bus stand. The judge was dealing with a writ plea filed by the NGOs Colony Welfare Association, Vanasthalipuram, represented by its executive member Rai Swamy. The petitioner contended that despite lodging complaints, police failed to act against certain youth groups attempting to raise permanent sheds in the middle of the bus stand. It was contended that such structures would obstruct traffic and inconvenience the public. It was further pointed out that in previous years only temporary pandals were allowed and removed after the Ganesh festivities, but this time efforts were being made to establish a permanent structure in a busy public area. The association sought directions restraining such activity. The government pleader sought time to obtain instructions.
