HC Seeks Clarity on 103-Acre Nagaram Land Transfer
Division Bench questions 2021 land alienation in Maheshwaram and directs the state to clarify legal standing.

Hyderabad: The Division Bench of the Telangana High Court comprising acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice Renuka Yara directed the state government to explain how a parcel of land admeasuring acres 103. 35 guntas in survey number 181 of the Nagaram village of Maheshwaram Mandal in Rangareddy district were alienated to the private parties in 2021 when the said survey number was reflected in the prohibited list of properties (Under Section 22A of the Registration Act). Reportedly the said land is mentioned as Bhoodan Yagna Board land, whereas a few others claim the land as private land.
The Bench also directed Katram Muralidhar Reddy, government counsel for revenue to produce a copy of the order or memo, which issued bringing the said land in the prohibited list of properties. The court also directed the private parties to file counters within two weeks, explaining their contention. The Bench was dealing with an appeal filed by Md Farooz Ali Khan and others, questioning the transfer of the land to the private parties by registering 15 documents in 2021, when it was marked in the properties of prohibited list and moreover, several petitions are pending before the civil court as well as High Court, over the said land.
