Telangana High Court Refuses To Halt D.O.S.T. Process Amid Challenge To SC Categorisation

Hyderabad:The vacation bench of the Telangana High Court on Wednesday refused to interfere in the Telangana Degree Online Service (DOST) admission process, which began on May 3. The court was not inclined to postpone the Phase-1 seat allotment date from May 2 to June 10.
The petitioners, Mala Mahanadu and Scheduled Kulala Aikya Vedika, while questioning the legality of the Telangana Scheduled Castes Rationalisation of Reservations Act, 2025 (Act 15 of 2025), said that the government has commenced the degree college admission process in tune with the Act and requested the court to stop the process.
Advocate-General A. Sudarshan Reddy appearing for the government said that interim orders had not been passed in the petitions challenging the Act as well as the the appointment One Man Commission. The petitioners had now approached the court challenging the DOST admission process. He submitted that the government commenced the process only after making a legislation and the petitioners could not seek to stall it at this stage. The bench directed the state to file its counter by June 10.
