HC Issues Bailable Warrant Against Sandeep Kumar Sultania
Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka, in an order instructed the police commissioner to execute the warrant and submit a detailed report on its execution before the next date of hearing.
Hyderabad:The Telangana High Court has issued a bailable warrant against senior IAS officer and finance principal secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, in connection with a contempt of court case. The court also directed the Hyderabad city police commissioner to arrest the officer wherever he was found and produce him before the court at 10.30 pm on Friday (August 7).
Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka, in an order instructed the police commissioner to execute the warrant and submit a detailed report on its execution before the next date of hearing. The court directed that if Sultania furnished a personal bond of `5,000, along with an undertaking to appear before the court at 10.30 am on August 7 and continue attending future hearings as directed, he may be released on bail.
The directions were issued while hearing a contempt petition filed by J. Ramakrishna, a former member of the Secunderabad Cantonment Board, who alleged wilful disobedience of the High Court's 2024 order.
In its earlier judgment, the High Court had directed the government to consider the petitioner's representation regarding the remission of the pending surcharge on stamp duty allegedly collected from the SCB. Claiming that the order had not been implemented, Ramakrishna filed a contempt petition in March 2026.
