Harvard to Offer Courses From Telangana in Dec
The Chief Minister held a meeting with a 30-member delegation representing various UK universities.
Hyderabad:Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday announced that the world-renowned Harvard University would begin offering executive education courses to aspirants in Hyderabad starting December.
During a meeting with a delegation from UK business schools, he stated that the Telangana government is taking rapid strides toward transforming the state into a 'Global Knowledge Hub.'
The Chief Minister held a meeting with a 30-member delegation representing various UK universities. The group included Lord Karan Bilimoria, a member of the House of Lords, Janaka Pushpanathan from British Council, Flora Hamilton, CEO of Chartered Association of Business Schools, and representatives from the British Deputy High Commission.
Interacting with deans and senior officials from UK business schools, the Chief Minister assured them that the state government was fully prepared to meet their requirements. He noted that the process of establishing offshore campuses in Hyderabad by prestigious institutions — such as MIT and Purdue — was underway.
Revanth Reddy said the arrival of foreign educational institutions would facilitate collaboration with local universities and industries, as well as enable research activities to be conducted locally. He noted that if UK business schools were established in Telangana, global corporate entities would turn their attention to the state. The Chief Minister also highlighted that students and faculty in Telangana would gain access to international institutions, global experience, and world-class opportunities.
Revanth Reddy said that partnerships could be initiated with prominent international universities — such as Harvard, MIT, the University of London, Virginia Tech, and Northeastern University — in areas like executive programmes, dual-degree courses, faculty training, and research. He also added that the government is working to enhance students' proficiency in foreign languages such as English, German, and Japanese.
He explained that the 'Young India Skills University' is being established in 'Bharat Future City' to provide cutting-edge skill training to the youth, aligning with evolving market demands. He described 'Bharat Future City' as a prestigious project spanning approximately 30,000 acres, designed to be the country's first net-zero greenfield smart city. He stated that the establishment of an education hub there would boost employment opportunities for future generations.
The Chief Minister extended an invitation to the team for the 'Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026,' scheduled to be held there in December. It was announced that key stakeholders in the UK education sector would be specially invited to the global summit.
