Harish: Revanth Can’t Seek Votes After Failing To Keep Poll Promises

As part of the municipal election campaign, Harish Rao toured Gaddapotharam and Gummadidala municipalities in the Patancheru Assembly constituency on Wednesday: Reports

SANGARDDY: Former minister and deputy floor leader T. Harish Rao said the Congress has no moral authority to seek votes in the upcoming municipal elections, alleging that none of the six guarantees promised within 100 days have been implemented even after 700 days.

As part of the municipal election campaign, Harish Rao toured Gaddapotharam and Gummadidala municipalities in the Patancheru Assembly constituency on Wednesday. During the tour, several Congress leaders and workers resigned from the party and joined the BRS at Gummadidala. Harish Rao welcomed them by draping the pink scarf.

Addressing the gathering, he said Rythu Bandhu funds have still not been credited despite February having begun. He recalled that when former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was in power, the amounts were deposited in December. “Nursery sowing is over, ploughing and weeding are complete, and urea is being applied. When will Rythu Bandhu be given?” he asked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

Harish Rao alleged that the Chief Minister assumes there are no farmers in municipalities and that governance can continue without extending Rythu Bandhu to them. He said farmers form a majority in nearly half of the municipalities and warned that in these elections, farmers would unite and give a fitting response to the Congress.

He challenged Congress leaders to visit any power substation to verify whether 24-hour power supply is available, alleging that the government is unable to provide even 12 hours of electricity to farmers. He also accused the Congress of cheating Muslims, asking whether the salaries of Imams and Muezzins had been increased in the past two and a half years.

Harish Rao said the only scheme implemented was free bus travel, and even that was incomplete, with men facing double ticket charges. He alleged that in two and a half years, the Chief Minister had not undertaken any development work in villages or municipalities, and called for a decisive defeat of the Congress, urging voters to ensure an overwhelming victory for BRS candidates.
