Harish Rao Hits Back on Miyapur Land Case
Addressing a press conference here, Harish Rao reiterated that the BRS government had gone all out to protect government lands, whether in Miyapur, Manchirevula or Bhoopalapally.

HYDERABAD: BRS leader T. Harish Rao on Saturday reminded Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy that it was K. Chandrasekhar Rao, then CM, who had ordered the arrest of “Goldstone” Prasad’s brother in the Miyapur land scam. “Why will our government act tough with Goldstone Prasad if we had any understanding with him,” he asked.
Addressing a press conference here, Harish Rao reiterated that the BRS government had gone all out to protect government lands, whether in Miyapur, Manchirevula or Bhoopalapally. He accused the Chief Minister of rushing to sell Miyapur lands even before the government received an official copy of the Supreme Court judgment. He alleged that Revanth raised ₹10,000 crore by mortgaging Kancha Gachibowli lands, paying a commission of ₹400 crore, and dared him to order a probe to bring out the facts.
Harish Rao further alleged that the Congress government allowed a private party, Dream Valley Santosh Reddy, to demolish a compound wall built by Greyhounds on Manchirevula land and register about 10 acres belonging to Greyhounds in the names of different parties without paying registration fee. “This is part of 400 acres which the BRS government protected from land sharks and for which we secured a Supreme Court order declaring it as government land,” he pointed out.
On the Miyapur land case, Harish Rao said the matter came up for hearing in the Supreme Court 192 times. On 86 of those occasions, arguments were presented by senior advocate C.S. Vaidyanathan, who had been appointed by the BRS government. “Since the Congress party came to power, there have been only 11 hearings,” he noted, adding that the contrast showed the seriousness with which the previous government pursued the case compared to the present dispensation.
He insisted that the BRS had consistently acted to safeguard public lands and accused the Congress of weakening the state’s position in court by delaying hearings and encouraging private interests. Rao said the party would continue to expose what he described as the Congress government’s “land deals” and “compromises” that risked public property.
