Harish in Total Despair, Says Ponguleti

The minister was commenting on a picture by Deccan Chronicle photographer K. Durga Rao, who won a consolation prize

Hyderabad: I&PR minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Tuesday took a swipe at BRS leader T. Harish Rao, while presenting awards to photographers during the World Photography Day here celebrations on Tuesday. He was commenting on a picture by Deccan Chronicle photographer K. Durga Rao, who won a consolation prize.

The picture showed Harish Rao speaking at the blast-hit Sigachi Industries near here, during a visit on July 28.

Commenting on the picture, the minister quipped: “This photo shows the despair that Harish Rao felt, saying, ‘What else? Everything is over’.” He appeared to be linking it to the BRS’ electoral defeat. The comment has since gone viral.

Srinivas Reddy said that every photograph carries its own story, and had the ability to touch the hearts of viewers. He praised photographers for their role in capturing moments and weaving stories through their work.

The event was attended by senior officials, including Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, I&PR special commissioner C.H. Priyanka, Telangana Media Academy chairman K. Sreenivas Reddy and Chief Minister’s Chief Public Relations Officer Dr G. Malsur.

Srinivas Reddy also inaugurated a photograph exhibition at the venue. They interacted with photographers, and observed the vibrant and heart-touching photographs of Telangana. The I &PR department also organised a photography competition for media photographers across the state.
