Hare Krishna Golden Temple Chida Dahi Festival
The celebrations began in morning with deities Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga adorned with Navavasträs (new garments).
Hyderabad:The Hare Krishna Golden temple, Banjara Hills grandly celebrated the “Panihati chida dahi festival” a traditional festival of offering chipped rice & yogurt Prasadam, on Saturday.
The “Chida-Dahi” Mahotsava also known as Danda Mahotsava (Festival of Punishment) is an annual commemoration of a pastime of Sri Nityananda Prabhu and Srila Raghunatha Dasa Goswami, celebrated on the thirteenth day of the bright moon in the month of Jyeshtha (May–June).
The celebrations began in morning with deities Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga adorned with Navavasträs (new garments). In the evening a grand Pallaki procession, accompanied by Harinam Kirtans held.
Speaking on the ocassion,Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji, President of Hare Krishna Movement, Hyderabad said the festival shows us the best way to get the blessings of the Lord by serving his beloved devotees.
