‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Fervour Across Telangana

They urged citizens to display national pride without distinction of caste, religion or community: Reports

HYDERABAD: ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ celebrations have begun across Telangana in a patriotic

atmosphere, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to hoist the national flag at every home during the Independence Day celebrations.

All Union ministers, MPs and MLAs from the state, along with their family members, joined the initiative and have hoisted the tricolour atop their residences, sharing photographs and videos on social media to encourage participation. They urged citizens to display national pride without
distinction of caste, religion or community.

The campaign is being observed through flag hoisting at homes and online posts carrying the hashtag #HarGharTiranga, with selfies uploaded to harghartiranga.com, said Dr Mekala Shilpa Reddy, working convenor of the movement in the state. She said the tricolour symbolises India’s unity, progress and glory, while this year’s drive also commemorates 150 years of Vande Mataram.

Party workers have also been asked to organise Tiranga rallies in villages, towns and mandals, and conduct cleanliness drives at memorials and freedom fighters’ statues across the state from August 12 to 14.
