Hanuman Jayanti celebrated in a grand manner in Kondagattu

Hanuman Jayanti was celebrated with pomp and gaiety in the famous Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy temple in Jagtial district on Saturday.

Kondagattu: Hanuman Jayanti was celebrated with pomp and gaiety in the famous Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy temple in Jagtial district on Saturday. Thousands of devotees took part in the celebrations. Hanuman Deeksha swamis and devotees from various districts in Telangana state and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka states also reached here.

Interestingly, hundreds of Hanuman Deeksha swamis reached Kondagattu barefoot from their native towns and villages crossing more than 150 to 250 kms. Chinna Jayanti celebrations began on Friday and it will conclude on Sunday. To get the darshan of Lord Hanuman, the devotees thronged in queue lines from Friday midnight onwards.

Abhisekhams conducted for Mulavirat in the temple and Suprabhata seva, presenting of Pattu clothes conducted on Saturday. Hanuman Deeksha swamis concluded their Deeksha Viramana process. They carried out Irumudis while climbing the hillock of Kondagattu. The devotees chanted Jai Sriram and Jai Hanuman slogans on the occasion.

Police department made elaborate security arrangements during Hanuman Jayanti at Kondagattu. Endowment department officials closely monitored the celebrations for the convenience of the devotees. In view of heavy traffic on Jagtial-Karimnagar highway, vehicular traffic was adversely affected. MLAs M.Sanjay Kumar, Adlur Laxman Kumar, Jagtial collector B.Satya Prasad, SP Ashok Kumar visited Kondagattu shrine.
