Hanumakonda: Two brothers were seriously injured after detonators exploded near Dhanalakshmi poultry farm behind the Dharmasagar reservoir on Friday. In the blast, one boy lost fingers on his hand, while the other suffered damage to his right eye.
According to reports, the minor boys K. Dhanraju (13) and K. Nagaraju (11) were working at the poultry farm. Their father, K. Anandarao, had arrived in Dharmasagar on Thursday with his family from another area for work. On Friday, he went into the village to buy cooking supplies, and with no one home, the two brothers went off to play near a nearby stone crusher unit, where they saw unexploded detonators lying around.
They then carried them back to the poultry farm area and started playing with them when the devices exploded, causing the injuries. Locals immediately rushed the children to a private hospital in Hanumakonda through the 108 ambulance service.
Police said a case has been registered based on the father's complaint and an investigation is underway.
