Hanamkonda Inter Student Dies of Heart Attack After Seizure During Exercise
Mani Teja collapsed after a seizure at Gurukul school; CPR given, but he was declared dead at MGM

Warangal: A 17-year-old Intermediate second-year student died of a heart attack after suffering a seizure at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Boys’ Gurukul Residential School in Karunapuram, Dharmasagar mandal, Hanamkonda on Monday.
The school’s acting principal, S. Srinivas, identified the student as Bathini Mani Teja, who was studying MPC and hailed from Singaram village, Shayampet mandal. Mani Teja went to the school grounds for the morning exercise as usual. After running a short distance, he experienced a seizure and collapsed.
The Physical Education Teacher and another staff member immediately administered CPR before rushing him to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital. Doctors noted his heart rate was critically low and, after examination, confirmed that he had suffered cardiac arrest. Mani Teja had been unwell for several days; his father, Kumara Swamy, visited the school two days earlier and provided him with medication.
Police, alerted by the school management, questioned classmates, who said they saw Mani Teja fit and receive first aid from teachers. The authorities took his body to MGM Hospital for a postmortem and registered a case before beginning further investigation.
