Hyderabad: The Habibnagar Police have cracked a burglary case involving the theft of cash and gold ornaments worth Rs.29 lakh from the house of a family that had gone on the Umrah pilgrimage.
Police arrested three accused, including close relatives of the victims and a former shop helper who had been associated with the family. During the investigation, officers recovered Rs.12.50 lakh in cash and 134.44 grams of gold ornaments.
According to the police, the accused took advantage of the family's absence and committed the theft. Based on CCTV footage and other evidence, police tracked down and arrested the accused.
Cases have been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
