H-FAST Raid Exposes Unhygienic Conditions at Soya Chunks Unit in Jalpally
Food Safety officials discard contaminated stock; action initiated under Food Safety Act after workers found handling food with bare hands and poor sanitation detected
A joint inspection by H-FAST and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Food Safety officials has uncovered serious hygiene violations at a soya chunks manufacturing unit in Jalpally on July 28, 2026.
The unit, operating under the name Urvi Food Products, was found functioning in highly unhygienic conditions. Officials observed workers handling food products with bare hands and even feet, raising major concerns over food safety practices. The premises also suffered from poor sanitation, housefly infestation, and lack of basic hygiene protocols.
During the inspection, authorities noted the absence of mandatory records and improper storage of both raw materials and finished products. Food items were reportedly kept in conditions that could lead to contamination, posing potential health risks to consumers.
Acting on the violations, the Food Safety Officer immediately discarded the unhygienically manufactured soya chunks on the spot. Further action has been initiated against the unit under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act.
