Movie highlights Razakar atrocities, wins Best Film, Music, and Makeup awards

Hyderabad: BJP leader Gudur Narayana Reddy expressed happiness over his film Razakar winning three honours at the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards 2024, calling it a recognition of his efforts to bring a crucial chapter of Hyderabad’s history to the screen.
The film, which portrays the atrocities committed by the Razakars on Hindus in Hyderabad State during 1947–48 under Nizam’s rule, was named Best Film in the Environment/ Heritage/ History category. It also won the Best Music Director award for Bheems Ceciroleo and the Best Makeup Artist award for Nalla Sreenu.
Reddy said he produced the film with the intent of educating today’s youth about this painful period in history. “Many are unaware of the suffering endured by Hindus at the hands of the Razakars. I wanted this story to reach the younger generation,” he said.
He thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for instituting the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards and expressed gratitude to the officials and jury for recognising Razakar. He also acknowledged the dedication of the cast and crew, crediting them for the film’s success.
