Great Achievements Possible through Government Schools: Vivek
Dr Vivek said government schools today offer far more than classroom education—they provide students with opportunities to compete on a global stage

Hyderabad: Minister for Labour and Employment, Dr G. Vivek Venkatswamy said that students studying in government schools can reach the highest positions in the country if they set ambitious goals, remain disciplined and work hard.
The Minister was addressing a programme organised by Sureify School Kits at the Government High School in Chegunta, Medak district, where he distributed free school bags to students. He later addressed students, teachers and parents.
Dr Vivek said government schools today offer far more than classroom education—they provide students with opportunities to compete on a global stage.
He noted that students from rural backgrounds are securing admissions into prestigious institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), medical colleges and engineering institutions through dedication and perseverance.
He particularly appreciated the Chegunta Government High School for producing two students who secured admission into IIIT, describing it as a reflection of the commitment of the teaching staff.
He urged every student to set a clear goal in life, whether it is becoming a doctor, IAS officer, engineer or pursuing any other profession, and to work relentlessly towards achieving it. Discipline, he said, is the defining quality of every successful person, and students should cultivate the habit of hard work alongside their studies.
The Minister said the Telangana government is giving high priority to strengthening infrastructure in government schools. He appreciated the collaborative efforts of the government, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and voluntary organisations in providing better classrooms, sanitation facilities and other essential infrastructure for students.
Dr Vivek also praised Sankalp Foundation for its contribution to education. He commended the organisation for supporting thousands of students and for committing to assist those aspiring to pursue higher education, describing it as an exemplary social responsibility initiative.
The Minister said his commitment to giving back to society was inspired by his father, the late G. Venkataswamy. After achieving success in business, he began supporting government schools across the Peddapalli Parliamentary constituency by providing furniture and improving infrastructure. He said contributing a part of one's earnings to society is not charity, but a responsibility.
Highlighting the importance of skill development, Dr Vivek said that alongside education, acquiring modern skills has become essential in the era of artificial intelligence (AI), which is transforming the job market.
He said the State Government is establishing Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) to equip youth with industry-relevant skills. Through the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM), students are also being provided foreign language training and opportunities for both domestic and international employment.
The Minister emphasised that sports and cultural activities are equally important for the holistic development of students. He advised students to excel academically while respecting their parents and upholding strong moral values.
Responding to a long-pending demand of the people of Chegunta, Dr Vivek assured that he would take up the proposal for establishing a Government Degree College with the State Government and make every effort to secure its approval.
