Govt to Procure Organic Produce for Central Kitchens, Says Revanth
The Chief Minister said measures are being taken to provide farmers with quality seeds which not only promote crop diversification but also ensure profitability for the farmers.
Hyderabad:Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday said the state government was exploring ways to encourage farmers to take up organic cultivation and procure vegetables, rice and other essential supplies directly from them for centralised kitchens set up for preparing snacks and meals for government schools and junior colleges.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a meeting attended by Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation president Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhu, Aurobindo Pharma managing director Nityananda Reddy and Divi’s Laboratories vice-president Madhu Babu.
During the meeting, the representatives of two companies handed over CSR funds — `12.18 crore by Divi’s and `10 crore by Aurobindo — to the Foundation for the breakfast scheme in government schools

He explained the importance of providing quality breakfast and mid-day meals to students through the Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation. He also commended the corporate companies for contributing CSR funds on this occasion.
