Govt. Sanctions Rs.1000 Cr to Osmania University for Infra Development

The Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has initiated a major transformation of Osmania University with a historic investment of over Rs.1,000 crore from the Telangana government

Hyderabad: The State government has accorded administrative sanction for an amount of Rs.1000 crore to Osmania University for infrastructure development in Osmania University campus in Hyderabad

An order to this effect was issued by Principal Secretary to Government, N Sridhar. He said the university registrar shall take necessary action accordingly.

The Osmania University, established in 1917, is the seventh oldest in India, the third oldest in south India and the first to be established in the erstwhile princely State of Hyderabad.

Throughout its existence of over ten decades, it has shown remarkable progress and sustained an integrated development of all faculties. It has significantly contributed to the academic and economic development of not only the region but also of the country.

Its alumni have distinguished themselves nationally and internationally in various spheres of life and are spread far and wide around the world, according to OU website.

It further stated that the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has initiated a major transformation of Osmania University with a historic investment of over Rs.1,000 crore from the Telangana government. This visionary initiative aims to elevate OU into a global powerhouse by developing cutting-edge academic and research infrastructure, revitalizing its heritage structures, and creating world-class modern facilities that reflect the university's legacy and future aspirations.
