Govt Reclaims Encroached Land Worth ₹3.5 Crore in Jangaon
Revenue officials take over 3.12 acres under illegal occupation; action against Ready-Mix Concrete plant operating since 2019
JANGAON: In a major drive to protect government land, the Jangaon district administration has reclaimed three acres of government ceiling land allegedly under illegal occupation at Chilpur village in Chilpur mandal. Officials estimate the market value of the land at over `3.5 crore.
According to revenue officials, a private ready-mix concrete plant had been operating on the encroached land in Survey No. 229 since 2019. Following a detailed inquiry, the authorities confirmed that the land belonged to the government and had been unlawfully occupied.
On the directions of district collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, orders were issued on July 20 to resume possession of the land. Revenue officials, assisted by the police, subsequently took possession of the property and completed the official panchanama. Officials said the land has considerable commercial value as it was located along the Tarigoppula–Chinnapendyala main road.
Collector Jha said that the district administration would adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards encroachments on government land and initiate strict legal action against violators. He said the revenue department would continue similar drives to safeguard public property.
