Govt Plans Digital Crop Registration, Crop Purchases Likely To Rest on This Data

HYDERABAD: The agriculture department has urged farmers to participate in an online crop registration using the digital crop survey programme. The department said it was important that all farmers take part in this programme as the government is expected to plan its various crop purchases based on crop registration by farmers. In a news release, the department said that government-appointed crop registration staff will visit the fields and record the crop cultivated by the farmer, the survey number of the land and other details. It also urged all farmers to be available at their fields when the crop registration staff visit their village, provide the correct crop details and get their crops registered.
