Hyderabad: Nampally court XII additional session judge on Wednesday sentenced 25 years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) on a 50-year-old government employee after he was found guilty for assaulting a two-year-old girl in POCSO Act.
Hyderabad City Police achieved a significant conviction in a heinous POCSO case registered at Kachiguda police, wherein the convict Sardar Thrilok Singh, has been sentenced to 25 years of RI, M Balaswamy DCP east zone said.
According to police a 2-year-old victim girl’s mother on June 21 last year lodged a written complaint stating that following the death of her husband in January 2023, she and her minor daughter were residing with her aunt’s house.
She stated that she used to leave her 2-year-old daughter in their care while she went to work, due to minor disputes in May 2024, she moved into a separate rented house but continued to leave the child with the same relatives during work hours, police said.
On June 16 the victim complained of pain in her vaginal area after the pain got unbearable she took her to a hospital on June 18 where doctors found cuts and bleeding in the child’s vaginal area, reportedly caused by fingering.
Suspecting her uncle, Sardar Trilokh Singh, who regularly looked after the child, she sought legal action. A case was registered under Section 376(AB) IPC & Sections 5(l)(m)(n) read with 6 of the POCSO Act, 2012, and investigation was taken up.
During the investigation, accused Sardar Trilokh Sing was arrested on June 22 and produced before the court. After thorough and professional investigation, a charge sheet was filed against the accused.
The case was investigated under the supervision of Sri Balaswamy, DCP East Zone, J. Narsaiah, Addl. DCP East Zone, and Y. Harish Kumar, ACP Kachiguda division, regular review meetings were conducted with Court Duty Officers (CDO)’s and Investigating Officers (IO)’s to ensure effective prosecution of sexual offences, especially those involving children.

The conviction was secured due to a highly meticulous investigation by Kachiguda Police and effective presentation of evidence during the trial. The Hyderabad City Police reaffirms its unwavering commitment to ensuring stringent action against perpetrators of sexual crimes, especially those against children, and remains dedicated to safeguarding vulnerable sections of society.
