Govt Clears ₹98 Crore for Malkajgiri Municipal Office

Hyderabad:The government gave approval for ₹98 crore to build a permanent office for the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) here on Monday. According to the government order, the office building will be constructed at Uppal Bhagayat Layout Phase III, on land covering Survey No.s 264, 265, 266, 267, 268, 269, 276, 278, 279 and 280. The land, around 10 acres, was allotted earlier for this purpose.
Officials said the proposal came from the MMC commissioner, who informed the government about the requirement for a permanent office. Earlier, the corporation was allowed to function from a temporary office at Tarnaka. A cost estimate of ₹98 crore was prepared for the construction following clearance from the finance department. Based on this, the government has now given administrative sanction for the project for the financial year 2025–26.
The order stated that the amount will be spent from the funds of the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation. It also said the Commissioner, MMC, will take further steps to move the project forward.
