Governor Unveils Higher Education Renewal Journal
The Governor appreciated TGCHE chairman Prof. V. Balakista Reddy and his team for promoting research, academic scholarship and informed discourse through the journal.
Hyderabad:How universities can renew their academic systems, respond to technological and global changes, and strengthen research and innovation constitutes the latest issue of the Telangana Journal of Higher Education (TJHE), released by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Saturday.
The Volume 2, Issue 1 (January-June 2026) issue, titled “Universities in the Twenty-First Century: Renewal, Reforms and Roadmaps,” is an international, peer-reviewed biannual journal published by the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE). It focuses on contemporary issues and emerging developments in higher education.
Releasing the journal, Shukla said academic platforms such as TJHE give scholars, teachers, researchers and policymakers an opportunity to deliberate on emerging challenges, exchange knowledge and explore innovative approaches to advance higher education.
The Governor appreciated TGCHE chairman Prof. V. Balakista Reddy and his team for promoting research, academic scholarship and informed discourse through the journal. He also appreciated the council’s initiatives to strengthen research culture and academic excellence in Telangana.
Shukla expressed the hope that TJHE would contribute to “evidence-based research and policy dialogue” and emerge as a significant scholarly platform for higher education in Telangana and beyond.
Reddy said the journal reflected TGCHE’s commitment to strengthening research culture, promoting academic excellence and facilitating meaningful policy dialogue in higher education. TGCHE secretary Prof. Sriram Venkatesh was also present.
Reddy also briefed the Governor about the Research Education Advancement Conclave in Hyderabad (REACH Conclave), scheduled for September 26. The conclave will bring higher education institutions and other stakeholders together to discuss research, innovation, collaboration and the future of higher education. According to TGCHE, the conclave aims to strengthen the state’s higher education, research and innovation ecosystem.
