Gold Stolen From Woman’s Bag on RTC Bus
Officials said efforts are on to identify the suspects by examining CCTV footage from the bus stops and nearby areas

Hyderabad: Unidentified persons stole gold ornaments weighing several tolas from the handbag of a woman while she was travelling in a crowded RTC bus.
According to Hayathnagar police, the victim, L. Ranamma, 53, resident of Choutuppal was travelling to visit her son Ashwin Kumar. She was carrying gold ornaments, including four tolas of bangles, two tolas of gold chains, gold rings weighing about one tola and some loose gold, in her handbag.
She boarded the RTC bus, Route No. 555 from LB Nagar to Choutuppal. After the bus crossed Hayathnagar bus stop, she noticed that the zip of her handbag was open. Upon checking, she found that the gold ornaments were missing.
Suspecting theft, she alerted the police, who registered a case based on her complaint. Officials said efforts are on to identify the suspects by examining CCTV footage from the bus stops and nearby areas. Police have advised commuters, especially women, to remain cautious while travelling with valuables in crowded public transport.
