Jagtial: State Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar announced on Wednesday that the Telangana government has released an initial installment of Rs 100 Crore for the Godavari Pushkarams scheduled for 2027.
Accompanied by officials from the Roads and Buildings (R&B) and Panchayat Raj departments, the Minister inspected arrangements in Velgatur Mandal of Jagtial district. During the visit, he instructed officials to construct a bypass road from Velgatur to Rajakkapalle to ease traffic flow.
To boost tourism, he directed that boating facilities be set up near the Ayyappa Swamy temple under construction in Velgatur. He also ordered the construction of a new road connecting Kotilingala to Pasigam. The Minister said all work should be completed by March 2027. He assured that comprehensive measures are being taken to ensure devotees from across the country face no difficulties during the Pushkaralu. "All necessary amenities will be provided to prevent traffic and accommodation issues," he said, adding that the government is committed to the smooth conduct of the mega religious event.
The Endowments Department had sent proposals to the State government to allocate Rs.530 crore for making arrangements for the Godavari Pushkaralu to be conducted from June 26 to July 7, 2027, in the State. As the State government has decided to conduct the 12-day Godavari Pushkaralu on a grand note, the endowments department is leaving no stone unturned to conduct the event.
