Global Summit A Failure, A PR Stunt: Harish

“It’s not a vision document, it’s a ‘visionless’ bundle of meaningless numbers, flashy pages, and empty promises. There is no seriousness or sanctity for that document": T. Harish Rao

HYDERABAD: Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao on Wednesday said the two-day Telangana Rising Global Summit organised by the Congress government, was a “complete failure” and called it a “public relations stunt by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to divert attention from two years of failed governance.”

In a statement, Harish Rao questioned what he called the “summit’s extravagance” and the “enormous public expenditure with no tangible return in the form of investments or employment.” Revanth Reddy, he said, “is claiming to build a fourth city with lakhs of crores of Rupees, but does not even have Rs 1,000 a month to offer poor autorickshaw workers. This is the height of hypocrisy,” he said.

Harish Rao also slammed the 2047 Vision document released at the summit declaring that lacked both vision and mission. “It’s not a vision document, it’s a ‘visionless’ bundle of meaningless numbers, flashy pages, and empty promises. There is no seriousness or sanctity for that document,” he said.

The former minister said that Revanth Reddy’s constant belittling of former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao “received a slap on its face” with the likes of former British prime minister Tony Blair, and former RBI governor D. Subbarao in their speeches at the summit “highlighting the development achieved under Chandrashekar Rao’s leadership.

Tony Blair praised Telangana as a model state. Subbarao said Telangana under KCR led the country in growth. This is a slap in the face for Revanth Reddy, who regularly belittles KCR’s achievements,” he said.
